As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our periodontal surgeons and our dental hygienists ensuring the smooth operation of all procedures. While previous experience in a similar role is not required, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist doctors during periodontal surgical procedures by preparing and organizing instruments and materials.
- Assist in the dental hygiene area by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and supporting dental hygienists as needed.
- Ensure a sterile environment by following infection control protocols and maintaining cleanliness in the surgical area.
- Provide support to patients by making them feel comfortable and informed before, during, and after procedures.
- Handle patient records and documentation accurately and confidentially.
- Sterilize and prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist in ordering and restocking as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
- Open to receiving constructive criticism and feedback to improve performance.
- Positive attitude with a "can-do" approach to tasks and challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interactions with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a dynamic environment.

- Basic computer skills for managing patient records and scheduling.
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or dental environment is a plus but not required.
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
Compensation:
- Pay range: $18 to $22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
