Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hospice Chaplain to offer spiritual support and guidance to patients, families, and staff within our hospice program. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to address diverse spiritual needs. This paid position plays a vital role in enhancing the holistic care provided by our team, ensuring comfort and spiritual well-being for those we serve.
Essential Functions:
1. Attendance for reliable and undisrupted care to clients
2. Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
3. Assess the client and family to determine their spiritual needs and implementthe plan accordingly.
4. Assist the client/family to access appropriate spiritual care.
5. Work with local ministers and others in the faith community to coordinate the spiritual needs of hospice clients and their families.
6. Provide spiritual support to the client and family which may include scripture reading, praying, and or counseling.
7. Appropriately document each contact with a client or family.
8. Assist in funeral or memorial service planning and presiding as needed.
9. Provide input for the bereavement care plan for each family and become involved in care as appropriate.
10. Participate in hospice education for staff, volunteers and community groups
11. Provide care, grief support and counsel staff members, assisting them in dealing with the grieving process.
12. Contribute newsletter articles as requested
13. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Pay: $33.00 - $36.00 per hour
