We are seeking an experienced TIG Welder and Stainless Steel Fabricator for a full-time, first-shift position in Hartland, Wisconsin. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in producing clean, precise, professional-looking work.
This is not a high-volume production welding position. We need a true fabricator who can work independently from blueprints, fit and assemble components, control heat distortion, and finish stainless-steel welds to a smooth, nearly invisible appearance.
Candidates with experience in sanitary welding, food-grade equipment, custom metal fabrication, stainless-steel sheet metal, or precision TIG/GTAW welding are strongly encouraged to apply.

This first-shift position is within an easy commute of approximately 20 minutes from Delafield, Pewaukee, Merton, Nashotah, Chenequa, North Lake, Sussex, Lisbon, Okauchee, Oconomowoc, Summit, Wales, Stone Bank, and portions of Waukesha. The shop is located in the Hartland business area near Kwik Trip and Pick ’n Save, making it especially convenient for welders and fabricators living throughout Wisconsin’s Lake Country area.
Actual commute times will vary depending on traffic and starting location.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform precision TIG welding on stainless-steel tubing, frames, sheet metal, and fabricated components
- Work primarily with 304 and 316 stainless steel
- Fabricate complete assemblies from blueprints, CAD drawings, and cut lists
- Perform layout, measuring, fitting, squaring, fixturing, and tack welding
- Control heat input to minimize warping and distortion on thin-gauge stainless steel
- Produce clean, consistent welds that meet sanitary, food-grade, and cosmetic standards
- Grind, blend, sand, and polish welds to create a smooth or seamless appearance
- Inspect completed work for weld quality, appearance, and dimensional accuracy
- Use grinders, flap discs, Scotch-Brite products, and other metal-finishing tools
- Identify blueprint, material, or quality concerns before beginning fabrication
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Complete projects independently while meeting quality and delivery expectations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous TIG welding or GTAW welding experience
- Strong stainless-steel welding and fabrication experience
- Experience working with 304 or 316 stainless steel
- Ability to independently fabricate parts and assemblies from blueprints
- Experience with stainless-steel sheet metal and square tubing
- Knowledge of heat-control techniques for thin-gauge stainless steel
- Experience grinding, blending, and polishing stainless-steel welds
- Sanitary welding, dairy equipment, or food-grade fabrication experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with pulse TIG, back-purging, stitch welding, skip welding, or similar techniques
- Ability to use calipers, tape measures, squares, and other measuring instruments
- Welding certifications are helpful but not required when equivalent skills can be demonstrated

Compensation
This TIG Welder position pays up to $27.00 per hour, depending on stainless-steel welding experience, blueprint proficiency, fabrication ability, and grinding and polishing skills.
