Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations, with a focus on culturally sensitive communication in Spanish and English.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, utilizing your knowledge of CPT coding and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and dermal filler administration while adhering to sterile technique and infection control protocols.
- Manage complex cases across various specialties including gastroenterology, geriatrics, behavioral health, critical care, and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care for remote or underserved populations while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your practicing state; bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse patient populations in settings such as medical offices, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or urgent care clinics.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth platforms is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in areas such as acute pain management, infectious disease care, internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics (including toddler and neonatal care), and behavioral health.
- Knowledge of advanced procedures like spinal tap, gastroscopy (gastric lavage), sonography, or ophthalmology techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with coding systems including CPT codes for procedures and ICD coding for diagnoses; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is advantageous.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment options and health coaching strategies effectively.
- Ability to work efficiently within multidisciplinary teams while managing a busy caseload in high-acuity environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or ICU settings.
