Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to lead and oversee the maintenance and operation of our facility’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. In this vital role, you will ensure the efficient functioning of all engineering systems, uphold safety standards, and manage maintenance teams to deliver exceptional facilities management. Your expertise in industrial maintenance, HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, and project management will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across our manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate facilities maintenance teams responsible for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee the repair, inspection, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical circuits (high voltage and low voltage), and mechanical systems using schematics and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Lead projects related to facilities upgrades, system installations, or repairs while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, plumbing infrastructure, electrical wiring, and HVAC units to identify issues early and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all maintenance activities, including working with high voltage or high-temperature equipment.
- Develop reports on maintenance activities, system performance metrics, and safety compliance for management review.
Requirements
- Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing HVAC systems, plumbing infrastructure, electrical circuits (including high voltage), and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, CMMS platforms, and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to industrial maintenance including working with high voltage or hazardous materials.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics fluently in English; excellent communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining team motivation.
- Experience managing facilities maintenance in compliance with industry standards; project management skills are highly valued.
- Practical understanding of industrial control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing environments.
- Mechanical aptitude for diagnosing issues related to mechanical systems repair and system optimization.
