We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Program Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children after school hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess skills in classroom management, behavior management, and early childhood education. Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist in planning and implementing educational and recreational activities.
- Support classroom management by maintaining discipline and promoting positive behavior.
- Provide assistance with homework as needed.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that accommodates diverse learning needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff.
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to first aid protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to childhood development and behavior management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma desirable.
- DCF Certified or progress towards certification.
- Experience working with children in settings such as childcare, Preschool, camp, or tutoring is preferred.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
