Job Overview: We are seeking a handy, resourceful Maintenance Technician to help keep our property in top condition. This is a part-time position, engaged as a 1099 independent contractor, covering general repairs and troubleshooting across the property's cabins, amenities, and grounds. You will work closely with our General Manager to ensure guests always experience a well-maintained, comfortable property.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Pay: $25–$35/hour, based on experience
- Hours: Part-time, approximately 10–20 hours per month, as needed
- Schedule is flexible and set based on maintenance requests and property needs. The ideal time to complete work is between 10 am and 4 pm on Sundays and weekdays, but before 10 am and after 4 pm is acceptable during periods of vacancy.
Responsibilities: The Contractor shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:
a) General Repairs: Perform basic handyman repairs across guest cabins, common areas, and outdoor amenities, including carpentry, painting, drywall patching, and fixture repairs.
b) Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve general issues across a variety of trades, including basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, escalating to licensed professionals when a repair falls outside scope.
c) Equipment Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on property equipment, including hot tub systems, appliances, and outdoor amenities.
d) Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and address wear, damage, or safety concerns before they become larger issues.
e) Guest Requests: Respond promptly to guest-reported maintenance issues to minimize disruption to their stay.
f) Seasonal Upkeep: Assist with seasonal maintenance needs, such as grounds upkeep and preparing amenities for changing weather conditions.
g) Communication: Work closely with the General Manager to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks and report on completed work.
h) Health & Safety: Follow proper safety procedures when using tools, equipment, and materials.
Qualifications:
- Basic handyman skills with hands-on experience across multiple trades (carpentry, painting, general plumbing, general electrical).
- Ability to troubleshoot a variety of issues and determine when to escalate to a licensed specialist.
- Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable working independently.
- Physical ability to lift, climb, kneel, and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Own basic tools required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in hotel, short-term rental, or residential property maintenance.
- Experience with pool/hot tub equipment.
