This open position is for a Auto Glass Technician and Glazier based out of the Telford location of Alderfer Glass Company. Current AGR techs? - No more piecework - get paid hourly for quality! This position holder will install auto glass parts in customer vehicles including windshields, back windows, side glass, window components, and heavy truck and equipment glass. Work may include use of software and calibration tools to digitally calibrate vehicle safety systems related to glass (ADAS). They may also fabricate and deliver glass projects from facility including: tabletops, shower enclosures, mirrors, glass, windows, doors, custom glass projects, screens, storm windows and more .
Applicants should have a desire for quality, a proficiency in the auto repair or collision trades, and a strong self motivation. Your primary focus will be providing high-quality work, working efficiently and safely, while maintaining and encouraging a positive customer experience. This is a role for a person who thrives on multi-tasking, customer service, attention to details, cleanliness, and can work proactively to find solutions for problems and challenges on customer projects. Punctuality and consistent work habits are a must, as this job includes work away from our facility and is appointment based.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, and will have one to three years of experience in automotive glazing/glass, or have some experience in auto repair and/or experience in a glass or glazing environment. Glass industry experience and knowledge is preferred, but is not required. Training will be provided for all candidates, as needed.
Candidates with related skills and lower experience levels will be considered. Strong written and spoken communication skills is preferred. Auto repair, auto manual reading, and software skills, and familiarity with auto diagnostics is a plus. In this role, you will be required to frequently lift items over 25 - 50 lbs. and will occasionally lift over 75 lbs. A drivers license is required to safely operate Alderfer Glass provided company vehicle.
