GLO Resources is hiring a Staff Accountant to work in Baton Rouge, LA. Pay ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 dependent upon experience. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with overtime as needed.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, a thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close processes. This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports while supporting strategic financial decision-making across the organization. The accountant will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in ensuring efficient and compliant financial operations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Evaluate financial information and identify trends, variances, and potential areas of risk.
- Assist in developing budgets and forecasts and track actual results against projected performance.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to provide financial support and analysis.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
- Oversee the reconciliation and maintenance of fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other general ledger accounts.
- Participate in initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of accounting processes.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience in an industry or public accounting environment.
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Vista, or comparable software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Construction industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
