- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail facility, ensuring the business is operated effectively and efficiently while managing employee matters.
- Responsible for training, coaching, performance management, and administering appropriate discipline.
- Maintain overall responsibility for the performance and stability of the station, including employees, compliance, safety, finances, and operations. Appropriately leverage support groups as needed, including Human Resources, Operations, and Facilities.
- Understand and ensure all station employees comply with applicable local and federal wage and hourly requirements.
- Support and follow established safety, security, and quality guidelines, as well as company policies, procedures, practices, and programs. Handle accidents and incidents professionally and immediately.
- Preserve the safety of yourself, fellow employees, customers, vendors, and others at the work location by utilizing established Loss Prevention processes and role-modeling safe behaviors.
- Maintain courteous and professional relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors, and the community.
- Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
Principal DutiesStore Operations
- Prioritize and delegate work effectively while managing time through efficient scheduling and appropriate use of labor hours.
- Ensure all areas of station operations are properly covered, including:
- Customer service
- Stocking and merchandising
- Cleaning
- Food service
- Fuel operations
- Manage merchandising and product inventory.
- Follow established guidance to ensure correct product volumes and availability throughout the store.
- Conduct audits to ensure accurate inventory and stock levels.
- Manage all cash-handling activities in compliance with Loss Prevention procedures.
- Coordinate with the Business Consultant (BC) to address workforce and staffing gaps within the zone when necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of weekly payroll in accordance with established guidelines.
- Proactively monitor station operating expenses and adjust spending as needed.
- Handle escalated customer-service issues and use sound judgment to implement appropriate solutions.
- Regularly review video surveillance footage to monitor station operations and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Ensure station personnel and contractors comply with all applicable safety standards.
- Conduct regular station meetings to create alignment, communicate important information, and ensure effective operations.
- Use various computer programs and systems to support daily store operations.
- Complete daily administrative tasks related to retail sales, food sales, gasoline sales, deliveries, and other station activities.
- Keep the Business Consultant informed of station operations and assist with special assignments and projects as needed.
- Remain accountable to the Business Consultant for overall station performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Consultant.
People Management
- Proactively identify hiring needs, consult with the Business Consultant, and partner with appropriate parties to effectively staff the station.
- Create and maintain a diverse and inclusive work environment that encourages mutual understanding, respect, teamwork, and productivity.
- Ensure appropriate onboarding and training of new employees to support station operations.
Performance Management
- Clearly communicate performance expectations to employees.
- Coach employees on the performance of their duties.
- Conduct performance discussions and provide constructive feedback.
- Take appropriate corrective action when necessary.
- Develop employees through coaching, training, and stretch assignments.
Job SpecificationsRequired Skills & Experience
- Must be sufficiently proficient in English to understand company policies, safety training, and job instructions and to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers regarding work-related matters.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous management experience in a retail, food-service, AND fuel environment.
- Must be available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally while exercising sound judgment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supervising and managing all employees working at the station.
Travel Requirements
Travel is very limited and generally restricted to required training, zone meetings, or district meetings.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Physical demands and working conditions include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on hard and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to bend, lift up to 20 lbs., push, and move products using proper lifting techniques.
- Follow the team-lift concept when objects are too heavy or awkward to move safely.
- Ability to work safely with equipment that can create and retain very high temperatures while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Periodic exposure to outdoor weather conditions during daylight hours.
- Occasional exposure to walk-in coolers maintained at approximately 34°F.

The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
