Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supervisor for Kill Plant Shipping to lead our warehouse shipping operations. In this role, you will oversee daily shipping activities, manage a team of warehouse staff, and ensure that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys coordinating logistics, optimizing processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Your leadership will be key in supporting our commitment to timely deliveries and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Supervise daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely processing of orders.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to organize inventory for efficient picking, packing, and dispatching.
- Ensure proper records are kept up to date with Shipping activities utilizing company resources.
- Oversee the use of forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely during loading and unloading operations.
- Implement process improvements to streamline shipping workflows, reduce errors, and enhance productivity.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
- Manage inventory control by conducting regular stock counts and addressing discrepancies promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervision within a logistics or distribution environment, preferred food production environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse distribution, and materials handling procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy lifting equipment safely; forklift certification is preferred.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment and process improvement techniques like lean management.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations, shipping & receiving protocols, e-commerce logistics, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
