Bartender

About the role
Yugen is a new entertainment-forward cocktail and sushi venue opening in Silverthorne, with approximately 90 seats across a cocktail bar, racing simulator booths, gaming area, and sushi counter. We are hiring Bartenders to run the bar during service: executing our menu to spec, maintaining pace during high-volume periods, and providing strong guest service. Bartenders report to the Bar Manager and are supported by a bartender assistant.
Prior craft cocktail experience is not required. The role does require the ability to learn a spec sheet, produce drinks consistently, and maintain composure under a heavy ticket load.
Responsibilities
- Execute the cocktail menu to spec on every drink
- Pour beer, wine, sake, and spirits, and prepare standard classics on request
- Work clean and efficiently during peak service
- Provide attentive guest service in a social, conversation-driven bar environment
- Support the bartender assistant on prep, garnish, and station setup
- Maintain bar standards, cleanliness, and opening and closing procedures
- Follow presentation standards, including themed glassware and garnish work, which are central to the guest experience
Qualifications
- One or more years of bartending experience in a bar or full-service restaurant
- Familiarity with common classics (Old Fashioned, Margarita, Negroni, Manhattan, Martini, Daiquiri), or the ability to learn them quickly
- Working knowledge of the primary base spirit categories: agave, whisk(e)y, rum, and gin
- Speed without loss of accuracy
- Reliability and composure during high-volume service
- Valid alcohol server certification, or willingness to obtain one prior to opening
Preferred
- Craft cocktail program experience
- Sake, shochu, or Japanese spirits experience
- Experience in entertainment-forward bar concepts such as gaming venues, sports bars, or music venues
- Interest in the venue's themes, including automotive and professional racing (F1, IMSA, WEC, NASCAR), sim racing, video games, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and tabletop gaming. Many of our regulars share these interests.
- Interest in contributing ideas for weekly specials and seasonal menu rotations
The space
Approximately 90 seats across four zones: cocktail bar, racing simulator booths, gaming area, and an eight-seat sushi counter. Year-round operation, not seasonal. High volume is expected on weekends and holiday weeks.
Compensation and schedule
- $12.14 per hour tipped base, plus tips, with a non-tipped base rate of $15.16 per hour depending on experience and role
- Tips are expected to bring total hourly earnings well above base
- Full-time and part-time positions available, year-round, with a set schedule once open
