We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper/Laundry Worker to join our hospitality team. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Handle laundry operations efficiently by washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and guest clothing with care and precision.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, buffers, and chemical sprayers to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
- Safely handle chemical agents required for cleaning and sanitation by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper handling procedures.
- Conduct floor care activities including stripping, waxing, polishing, and deep cleaning of various flooring types to ensure durability and appearance.
- Maintain cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other shared spaces by executing janitorial tasks efficiently.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary to ensure safety for guests and staff during incidents or hazardous situations.
- Adhere to hotel housekeeping management protocols by documenting completed tasks and reporting maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with a strong understanding of sanitation standards.
- Proficiency in using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, steam cleaners, buffers, and chemical sprayers.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including floor care maintenance like waxing and polishing.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by understanding chemical handling procedures and SDS documentation.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of linens or cleaning supplies while maintaining safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members alike.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures ensures quick response during urgent situations.
- Experience with industrial or institutional cleaning methods enhances efficiency in large-scale cleaning environments.
- Strong organizational skills for managing laundry loads and maintaining cleanliness schedules effectively.
- Understanding of hotel housekeeping management practices helps streamline daily operations while maintaining high standards of sanitation.
