Tutors & Friends is a growing academic support company seeking an engaging, reliable Humanities Tutor to work with middle school, high school, and occasional college students.
We are looking for someone who can confidently tutor English and writing, History, or ideally both. Strong candidates may specialize in one area, but applicants who can support students across multiple humanities subjects are especially encouraged to apply.

Schedule Requirements
Applicants must have consistent availability during peak tutoring hours:
- Monday through Friday afternoons and evenings
- Availability between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM Pacific Time is required
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions
- Help students improve academic performance and confidence
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning styles
- Assist with writing assignments, essays, reading comprehension, and history coursework
- Maintain professionalism and communication with students and families
- Prepare for sessions and provide academic support tailored to each student’s needs
Qualifications
- Strong academic background in English, History, Writing, or related fields
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Dependable, professional, and responsive
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Prior tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching experience preferred
Compensation
- $22–$30 per hour
- Compensation based on qualifications, experience, and lesson format
- Additional opportunities for in-person tutoring may be available
