Job Summary
- Ocean Blue Express, Inc. is seeking an Import Freight Forwarder to manage international shipments from overseas origin through final delivery in the United States.
- The primary focus is ocean import. Air import shipments come up occasionally, and export shipments are handled as needed.
- Daily work centers on documentation, customs clearance coordination, delivery scheduling, and customer communication.
- Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply. Hands-on import freight forwarding experience is strongly preferred.
Please note: This is an international freight forwarding position, NOT a warehouse operations, receiving, inventory control, picking, or packing role. Experience limited to warehouse-floor work is not considered freight forwarding experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle ocean import shipments (FCL and LCL) from origin through customs clearance and final delivery, plus air import shipments as they arise.
- Prepare and review arrival notices, delivery orders, and related documents, and keep shipment records accurate in the company system.
- Coordinate with ocean carriers, airlines, customs brokers, terminals, truckers, and overseas agents to schedule clearance and delivery.
- Track vessel arrival, customs clearance, and last free day to avoid demurrage and detention charges.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for customers, covering rate and service information, status updates, and problem resolution.
- Support export shipments by ocean and air as needed, including booking, documentation, and coordination.
Qualifications
- Entry-level candidates are welcome; prior import freight forwarding experience is strongly preferred. Related coursework or internship experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of ocean and air freight documentation and U.S. customs clearance is preferred; export experience is a plus.
- Clear communication and a strong customer-service mindset. Korean/English bilingual skills are a plus.
- Accurate with documentation, able to prioritize under deadlines, and comfortable with Microsoft Office and industry software.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The company does not provide employment visa or permanent-residency sponsorship.

- Compensation : $52,000 ~ $80,000 (annual gross)
