Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch).
Flexible schedule available with 8 working hours per day
lunch can be adjusted between 30-60 minutes
and end time between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM.

Logistics Coordination
- Research and plan the most appropriate route for shipments considering the nature of items and customer requirements.
- Arrange appropriate packaging considering the climate, weight, nature of goods, costs, delivery, and warehousing at the final destination.
- Obtain, check, and prepare required documentation to meet customer and insurance requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to transfer items smoothly in accordance with customer requirements.
- Arrange payment of freight fees and other associated charges.
- Track shipping status using assigned systems.
- Update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare quotations according to customer requests; ensure quotations are competitive and reasonably profitable by negotiating with subcontractors and vendors.
- Handle, troubleshoot, and assist customers in a timely manner to resolve claims, consulting with the Assistant Manager or Manager depending on complexity.
- Provide accurate shipping information to customs brokers for timely clearance.
Required
- Bilingual in Japanese and English (business level, both written and verbal).
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or more than one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of higher education and experience.
Preferred
- 2-3 years of operational experience at a freight forwarding or logistics company.
- Proficiency in Windows OS and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Overtime, Travel, and Physical Requirements
- Overtime: Occasional overtime until approximately 6:00-6:30 PM may occur, typically during monthly billing close periods.
- Travel: No business travel is generally required.
- Driving: Valid driver's license required. Appropriate personal vehicle liability insurance required for personal car usage.
- Physical Demands: Frequently sit, walk, and stand; occasionally use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 (based on experience; higher negotiable for exceptional candidates)
- Bonus: Performance-based bonus (not guaranteed); no commission
- Health Insurance: Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage available the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Employee contribution: 14.5% of premium.
- Life Insurance: Optional, at employee's full cost.
- 401(k): Eligible after 1 year of employment. Company matching up to 4% of gross pay.
- Paid Vacation: Begins accruing after the 90-day probationary period. First year accrues at 6.67 hours per month. Accrual increases with years of service, up to a maximum of 160 hours after 15 years. Unused vacation can be bought back in January of the following year.
- Sick Leave: 48 hours provided on the first day of employment. 60 hours in years 2 and 3; 68 hours from year 4 onward. Granted every January 1.
- Paid Holidays: 11 company-designated paid holidays per year, plus 1 additional paid day off during the employee's birthday month.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
