Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive supervision and quality care for children ages 6 weeks–5 years.
- Plan and lead engaging, developmentally-appropriate activities that support cognitive, emotional, physical, and social growth
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that meets Louisiana childcare licensing standards
- Establish positive relationships with children, parents, and co-workers
- Communicate daily with families regarding each child’s progress and routines
- Assist with diapering, potty training, feeding, and other caregiving routines as needed
- Follow all state regulations and center policies related to health, safety, and curriculum
- Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth, cooperative daycare environment
Qualifications:
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine love for working with young children
- High school diploma or GED required
- CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Experience in a licensed childcare or daycare center, or preschool setting
- Familiarity with Louisiana Department of Education childcare regulations (LDE Licensing)
- CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
