Northeast Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, dependable, and compassionate part-time Veterinary Receptionist to become a valued member of our team.
As the first point of contact for our clients and patients, the Veterinary Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming experience while helping our hospital run smoothly each day. Position Summary
The Veterinary Receptionist is responsible for greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and supporting communication between pet owners and the veterinary team. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking in a busy veterinary setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and pets warmly and professionally
- Answer a multi-line phone system and assist clients with questions, scheduling, and general information
- Schedule appointments and help manage the daily flow of the hospital
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Maintain and update patient records and client information
- Process payments, invoices, and other front desk financial transactions
- Communicate clearly between pet owners and veterinary staff regarding services, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- Provide compassionate, professional service to clients during both routine and stressful situations
- Reconcile the cash drawer and complete end-of-day front desk procedures
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary office experience is required
- Basic computer and phone system proficiency; experience with Avimark software is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and multitasking
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Compassion for animals and the people who care for them
- Ability to work well with both clients and veterinary team members
