Focus is looking to add a new member to our team who will be the primary optometric assistant to our providers. The ideal candidate is reliable, enthusiastic, engaged, and a quick learner.
Front Office & Patient Coordination
- Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Verify and file vision and medical insurance benefits
Clinical Support
- Perform pre-testing procedures including (but not limited to):
- Autorefraction
- Retinal imaging and other diagnostic testing as needed
Optical & Sales
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection
- Process eyewear orders and ensure accurate documentation
Additional Duties
- Occasional scribing during patient exams and assisting with basic coding
- Cross-train and assist with other office duties as needed to support daily operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an optometry or healthcare setting preferred (but not required)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using computers and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
- Sales experience or interest in eyewear sales is a plus
- Willingness to learn and be cross-trained in multiple roles
