Position Overview
UFS is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales & Operations Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of freight shipments—from prospecting and securing new customers to executing and managing loads through delivery. This role combines sales, account management, and operational execution, requiring someone who can build a book of business while ensuring best-in-class service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
· Prospect and develop new shipper relationships through cold calling, email outreach, and networking
· Build, manage, and grow a book of business
· Identify opportunities within existing accounts to increase revenue
· Understand customer supply chain needs and provide tailored logistics solutions
Account Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for customers
· Provide accurate and competitive rate quotes
· Maintain strong relationships through consistent communication and service
· Manage expectations and proactively communicate updates or issues
Carrier Procurement
· Source, vet, and develop relationships with reliable carriers
· Negotiate rates to maximize profitability while ensuring service quality
· Maintain a strong carrier network to support customer needs
Operations & Execution
· Manage shipments from pickup through delivery (cradle-to-grave)
· Track and trace loads to ensure on-time performance
· Troubleshoot and resolve service issues in real time
· Ensure all load details are accurately entered and maintained in internal systems
Financial & Performance Management
· Maintain and grow load-level margins
· Monitor profitability across accounts and lanes
· Balance customer pricing with carrier costs to drive revenue growth
Qualifications
· High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
· 1+ years of freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain experience preferred
· Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Experience with TMS/CRM systems is a plus

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
