Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-time Bookkeeper to join our family office. Duties
- Record and maintain accurate journal entries, including debits and credits, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure data accuracy
- Process payroll efficiently using payroll software and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems to record transactions and generate reports
- Prepare financial reports and statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to support management decision-making
- Conduct account analysis, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliation to maintain financial integrity
- Assist with budgeting activities and provide support for financial audits or reviews as needed
Experience
- Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping and accounting concepts
- Hands-on experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with public accounting standards and corporate accounting procedures
- Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, report writing, and financial modeling
- Experience processing payroll and managing accounts payable/receivable workflows
- Ability to perform account reconciliation tasks accurately and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail combined with good organizational skills to handle multiple priorities in a part-time capacity
