Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans using evidence-based physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy.
- Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately following clinical documentation standards and medical terminology guidelines.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment used during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and proper function.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility strategies, and injury prevention to promote active participation in recovery.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently to ensure comprehensive documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and medical documentation requirements.
- Support patients across various settings such as geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care by adapting treatment approaches to meet individual needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working in inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy principles essential for effective client care.
- Hands-on experience with clinical assessment documentation and adherence to clinical documentation standards is required.
- Skilled in the operation of medical equipment related to physical therapy treatments including modalities for trigger point therapy.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with outpatient therapy protocols, discharge planning processes, and skilled nursing facility procedures enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Experience in specialized areas such as orthopedics or sports medicine is a valuable asset for supporting diverse patient needs.
