Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, SRP, periodontal maintenance
- Take dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and other dental assessments
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for dental care
- Administer local anesthesia (if certified)
- Assist the dentist during procedures if needed and maintain a sterile working environment
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information into Eaglesoft
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
Skills:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Proficiency in medical coding and billing procedures
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Eaglesoft
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
-CPR/BLS certified
