Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight across long distances, ensuring timely and safe delivery while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty trucks for long-distance transportation of goods.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary.
- Ensure the secure transport of goods on Dry Van or refrigerated trailers.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding commercial driving.
- Manage route planning to optimize delivery efficiency while minimizing fuel consumption.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with long-haul routes.
- Familiarity with Dry and refrigerated trailer operations is preferred.
- Ability to operate Automatic transmission vehicles effectively.
- Experience with load unloading procedures and freight handling.
- Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and navigation systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on the road.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
