Job Overview
Claywood is seeking a hospitality-driven Food Runner / Host to join our growing front of house team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values teamwork, and genuinely enjoys creating memorable guest experiences.
This role is incredibly important to the overall flow and energy of the restaurant. You will be responsible for helping create a warm and welcoming first impression for our guests while also supporting service through accurate food running, table maintenance, and guest interaction throughout service.
Claywood is a seasonal, chef-driven restaurant focused on scratch cooking, local sourcing, craft cocktails, elevated hospitality, and creating an intentional dining experience for every guest who walks through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
- Manage reservations and seating flow throughout service
- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, managers, and kitchen staff
- Deliver food accurately and efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Describe dishes and ingredients confidently to guests when delivering plates
- Assist in maintaining clean dining spaces, polished service stations, and overall restaurant organization
- Support servers with table maintenance, water service, clearing, and resetting tables
- Help maintain a positive and team-oriented atmosphere during busy services
- Assist with opening and closing side work responsibilities
- Provide attentive and thoughtful hospitality throughout the guest experience
Qualifications
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask and move with urgency in a high-volume environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Hospitality-minded personality with attention to detail
- Ability to remain composed and professional under pressure
- Weekend and evening availability required
- Restaurant experience preferred but not required for the right candidate
