Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter/Plumber to join our dynamic construction team. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of residential projects, from framing and trim carpentry to plumbing installations and repairs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and a proactive attitude to ensure high-quality results on every project. This paid position provides valuable hands-on experience in both carpentry and plumbing disciplines, contributing to the successful completion of diverse building and renovation tasks.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute projects
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water supply lines, fixtures, and drainage components
- Perform framing, trim carpentry, siding, door hanging, cabinet installation, and other woodworking tasks using hand tools and power tools for woodworking
- Use woodworking machines safely for precise cuts and fabrication of wood components
- Conduct heavy lifting, concrete forming, masonry work, plastering, stucco application, and roofing as needed for various projects
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as power tool safety protocols and proper handling of construction materials
- Assist with restoration projects including water damage remediation, mold remediation, and general renovation efforts
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, carpentry, woodworking, and plumbing installation
- Familiarity with construction site safety practices and the use of hand tools and power tools for woodworking and plumbing tasks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics and construction plans accurately
- Experience with metal stud framing, drywall installation (including plastering/stucco), fixture installation, flooring installation, tile laying, electrical experience preferred
- Knowledge of wood construction materials including rebar installation for concrete forms or structural reinforcement
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in interpreting technical instructions for remodeling or restoration projects
- Valid relevant certifications or licenses related to carpentry or plumbing are advantageous but not mandatory
