DESCRIPTION:
The Maintenance Utility Technician will be required to perform minor mechanical repair functions on equipment. Will be responsible for maintaining the coolants, oils, chemicals, and other fluids for machinery. Keep inventory of these items for all buildings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for emptying the catch pans under the equipment.
2. Disassembling and reassembling equipment for preventive maintenance.
3. Responsible for cleaning of the machine coolant sumps in the shop.
4. Responsible for cleaning the washers in the shop.
5. Is normally involved with the safety or work of others.
6. Maintains coolants, oils, chemicals or other fluids.
7. Maintains Inventory for the above items in the facility
8. Work closely with team members to provide a safe work environment. Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May require moderate lifting of items up to 60 pounds or heavier with assistance. May require standing for long periods time up to 12 hours daily, ability to climb 8 feet or higher, ability to work independently, ability to work under different temperatures, possible exposure to fumes and smoke from equipment operations. May need to operate on short deadlines and changing priorities, overtime may be required at times, capable to work nights, weekends, holidays, and be on-call. Will have to attend meetings before or after normal working hours.
