Responsibilities
- Install photovoltaic solar systems according to electrical blueprints, schematics, and industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 compliance.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute precise installations.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and forklifts safely to assemble and mount solar panels, fixtures, and related electrical components.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on photovoltaic systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety procedures including high voltage and low voltage protocols, roofing safety, and outdoor work standards.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and quality inspections post-installation to guarantee optimal performance.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site for seamless integration of plumbing, roofing, and electrical components while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a solar technician or in related electrical roles with a focus on photovoltaic system installation.
- Strong background in commercial electrician work with knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction plans; experience with blueprint reading is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively using diagnostic tools.
- Construction site experience including roofing, plumbing integration, and outdoor work environments.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures aligned with NFPA 70 standards; NFPA 70 certification is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, ladders, forklifts, and fixture installation techniques.
- Ability to work safely at heights on rooftops or elevated structures while following all OSHA guidelines.
