Yorkville High School has an opening for a Newspaper Club Sponsor (.5 FTE) for the 2026-2027 School Year.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION / POSITION SUMMARY:
Co-Curricular Sponsor: The Journalism/Newspaper Club Sponsor is responsible for directing and coordinating the journalism club. The Sponsor will supervise students in planning and executing events throughout the year and will organize approved fundraisers throughout the year in order to meet the needs of the club's expenses as applicable.
SKILLS: Ability to manage and inspire high school students with varying levels of experience. Organizational
skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision. Proven ability to manage a production calendar
and meet hard deadlines. Must show evidence of strong leadership and organizational skills.
KNOWLEDGE: Previous successful experience in sponsorship/mentoring preferred. Substantial knowledge in the
area of student support, as well as familiarity with student discipline and safety protocols.
ABILITY: Establish and maintain positive and supportive working relationships with all stakeholders to be flexible
and change as needed.
Previous Experience in Journalism is Preferred
Stipend Range: $2,236 - $3,746 / DOQ - (This will be prorated to a .5 FTE)
