American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with acute care experience and MBS proficiency for a 26-week inpatient rehab assignment in Hilo, Hawaii.

Inpatient rehabilitation setting with possible floating to another facility depending on census and staffing

Patient population includes acute care, SNF-level, and potential outpatient referrals
-
Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies performed independently in radiology without radiologist supervision
-
Primary EMR is Epic; Meditech used for inpatient documentation, with paper and pencil documentation for outpatient
-
Epic EMR experience preferred as transition to Epic occurred November 1, 2025

Day shift, generally a set 5-day per week schedule likely including one weekend day

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably with SNF or rehab hospital experience

Acute care experience required

Must be able to independently and proficiently complete Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies without radiologist supervision

Active Hawaii SLP license required by start of assignment; candidates without a current HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer

Current BLS/BCLS certification

ASHA certification required

License required if applicable

Provide inpatient rehabilitation speech therapy services including MBS studies, with possible outpatient referrals

Orientation to the rehab area and training in EMR documentation will be provided

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of their assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Friday Employee Health appointment
