Kitchen Helper (Preschool) Overview
We are looking for a reliable and organized Kitchen Helper to join our preschool team. This position involves preparing fresh school lunches for our students for a few hours each day Monday-Thursday. Our menu is simple, child-friendly, and designed for efficient preparation in larger quantities. We will provide training on our recipes, daily meal preparation process, and kitchen procedures.
In addition to meal preparation, this role includes inventory management and light kitchen cleaning. Because this position is located on a preschool campus, all applicants must complete a fingerprint background check before employment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook daily lunches according to our established menu and recipes.
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for meal service.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Store, label, and rotate food items appropriately to ensure freshness and prevent contamination.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate when supplies need to be restocked.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines while using kitchen equipment and appliances.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling practices.
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, meal service, or kitchen operations is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time efficiently.
- Prior kitchen experience is appreciated but not required.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check before employment.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
