About Us: We are a fast-paced, customer-focused service department with a reputation for quality and reliability. Our team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Dealership Shop Foreman or Automotive Flat Rate Technician to help manage our busy service operations.
Job Description: As a Shop Foreman , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department. You will be the point of contact between our technicians, service advisors and management helping to coordinate schedules, prioritize work, and keep customers informed. Your strong organizational and communication skills will be essential in providing exceptional service and maximizing efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and assign jobs to technicians based on their availability and skillset
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts, and labor hours
- Monitor technician productivity and ensure timely completion of repairs and services
- Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to manage workload and prioritize urgent jobs
- Keep advisors informed of any delays, additional services, or recommendations
- Assist with parts ordering and inventory tracking as needed
- Ensure that all work is completed within established timeframes and quality standards
- Provide administrative support to the service team
- Handle all internal used vehicle work. Open repair order, dispatch and make recommendations to the used vehicle manager.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a service dispatcher or a flat rate technician
- Certified Master Diagnostic Tech
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and terminology
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Familiarity with shop management software and scheduling systems
- Ability to work well with customers and team members
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a high-volume service department
- ASE certification or equivalent automotive knowledge
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
