Saw Operator
The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts - though overtime may be required occasionally, as an 8-hour weekend shift.
Day Shift: 7AM to 3PM
Afternoon Shift: 3PM to 11PM
Night Shift: 11PM to 7AM
- Note: As a union-based employer, we are unable to guarantee any shift preference following initial training on day shift. Shift preference is granted by seniority. All candidates should expect to work afternoon shift and/or night shift at some point following initial training.
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Position Overview:
Sets up, controls, and operates various saws to cut steel stock for forging operations while supporting
daily shop activities. Verifies stock sizes, numbers, and heat codes, records production data, and
weighs/measures cut pieces for quality control and documentation purposes. Performs saw blade
changes and equipment adjustments as needed to maintain efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, control, and operate various saws
- Verify stock sizes, numbers, and heat codes
- Measure part dimensions using appropriate tools
- Communicate findings to support quality and process control
- Perform saw blade changes
- Use grinders and other relevant tools
- Maintain records and documentation
- Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to read a tape measure up to 1/8 of an inch
- Properly label stock with identifying information
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking throughout shift.
- Ability to work with parts and equipment up to 100lb. throughout shift, with assistive lifting devices.
- Ability to work within very hot and industrial work environment during all seasons.
