American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience, 1 year of travel experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Work in the Oncology Pod of a hospital Emergency Department
-
Combined adult/pediatric ED patient population
-
Level I and Level II Trauma Center
-
STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
-
13-week assignment length
-
Floating required
-
Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
-
Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
-
Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
-
Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
-
EPIC charting system experience required
-
Oncology experience preferred but not required
-
Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
-
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Skilled in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
-
Experience with emergency medications and IV vasopressors
-
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
-
Experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
-
Skilled in central line care/management and blood product administration
-
Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
-
Pediatric care experience including sickle cell crisis management
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN (no coworker references accepted)

Provide emergency nursing care within the Oncology Pod of the ED
-
Requires prompt completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
-
Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
-
Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
-
RTO must be submitted at time of application and built into the contract, limited to 7 consecutive days
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
-
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
-
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
