Job description:
No experience required and PAID Overtime! As a Fire Protection System Designer, you will have a key role in determining project success as every project is different requiring the individual to solve unique challenges. At Concord, we value collaboration and teamwork. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals who are eager to mentor and share their expertise to help build foundational building blocks. Below is a list of the roles and tasks that you will expand on for each project.
- Design automatic fire suppression systems for new and existing building projects based on architectural plans and project specifications.
- Problem solve in real time working with Concord's install team and general contractors.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis to meet the system water demands.
- Engineer various types fire suppressions systems. Including wet, dry, double interlock pre-actions, and deluge sprinkler systems. Design and develop fire pump booster systems for high hazard type facilities.
- Prepare coordinated plans using BIM modeling and Navisworks to perform 3D coordination with other mechanical trades to reduce conflicts during construction phase of the project.
- Apply code references from NFPA, Ohio Building Code Standards and International Codes.
- Prepare and submit plans to local building departments to secure required permits.
- Stock list project material, order material from local suppliers/ approved vendors, and fabricate new fire protection systems from our local fabrication suppliers.
- Survey building conditions and structural steel components on site during the construction phase.
- Prepare highly detailed and accurate fabrication drawings for our field team for installation.
- Communicate effectively with field install personnel and service team for efficient flow of information on projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical drafting, mechanical design, mechanical systems or relevant field.
- Self-motivated and self-directed independent worker that is an innovative thinker.
- Proficient in basic to intermediate math and mechanically inclined.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- A personality that is up for the challenge and is ready to work as both a team, and as an individual.
- Ability to read architectural plans, structural engineering plans and building mechanical system plans helpful but not required.
- BIM software and 3D modeling software knowledge helpful but not required.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
