Location: Franklinville, NJ (Headquarters)
Travel: Required – Project-Based Travel Throughout the United States
Schedule: 40+ hours per week; additional hours and overtime as required based on project demands, project schedules, and travel assignments.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Safety Manager to support safety operations across multiple active projects. This position is headquartered in Franklinville, NJ and will require travel to project sites as needed. The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional with a strong industrial construction background who can effectively partner with field leadership, craft professionals, and executive management to maintain a world-class safety culture.
Position Overview
The Construction Site Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing and enforcing company safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and client-specific requirements, conducting field audits and inspections, investigating incidents, and promoting proactive safety initiatives across all project operations.
This role requires a visible field presence and the ability to build strong working relationships with project managers, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Management
- Implement and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company standards.
- Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Maintain all required safety documentation, permits, reports, and compliance records.
Field Safety Oversight
- Perform daily field observations and jobsite safety walks.
- Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established safety procedures.
- Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor high-risk activities including:
- Fall Protection
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined Space Entry
- Hot Work Operations
- Crane & Rigging Activities
- Excavation & Trenching
- Elevated Work Platforms
- Electrical Safety Programs
Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
- Track safety performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare incident reports and communicate findings to project and company leadership.
Training & Employee Development
- Conduct new hire orientations and site-specific safety training.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Coach supervisors and field personnel on hazard recognition and safe work practices.
- Promote employee engagement and accountability in all aspects of safety performance.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and subcontractors.
- Participate in project planning meetings and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reviews.
- Review permits, lift plans, and safety-related documentation.
- Support project leadership in achieving project safety and operational goals.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, manufacturing, power generation, data center, chemical, refinery, or heavy construction projects.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards.
- Experience conducting safety audits, field inspections, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as projects require.
Preferred
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- OSHA 500 Certification
- OSHA 30 Construction
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Experience supporting electrical, mechanical, structural steel, welding, rigging, process piping, or industrial maintenance projects.
