Tax Supervisor | Full-Time | On-Site
The Role
A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Supervisor to oversee client engagements, review complex tax returns, and mentor staff across a diverse client portfolio. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys balancing technical tax expertise, client advisory services, and team leadership in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage and review complex tax returns including partnerships (1065), C-corporations (1120), S-corporations (1120S), fiduciary returns, and high-net-worth individual returns (1040).
- Provide tax planning and advisory services for privately held businesses and individual clients.
- Support trust, estate, and gift tax compliance, planning strategies, and related reporting requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Review staff work for accuracy, compliance, and technical quality while providing coaching, mentorship, and developmental feedback.
- Supervise and support senior associates and staff throughout engagement execution and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with firm leadership and cross-functional teams to provide integrated solutions and exceptional client service.
- Research complex tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and overall client satisfaction.
- Contribute to practice growth through client service excellence, relationship development, and business development initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA license preferred.
- 7+ years of public accounting experience with strong exposure to individual and business taxation.
- Experience reviewing partnership, corporate, and high-net-worth individual tax returns.
- Experience with trust, estate, and gift tax matters preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Planner, BNA, PPC, or similar tax software preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax seasons as needed.
Compensation
$90,000-$105,000 (or commensurate with experience and qualifications).
