Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server/Cashier to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced café environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for customer service and have experience in the food industry. This role involves both serving customers and handling cash transactions, ensuring an exceptional dining experience while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
Duties
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner.
- Take and process food orders accurately using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems.
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently, including processing payments and providing change.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including bussing tables and sanitizing surfaces.
- Assist with food handling and preparation tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of orders.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to meet customer demands without compromising service quality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a quick service or fast food restaurant is preferred.
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or Micros POS systems is a plus.
- Strong culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proven sales skills with an ability to upsell menu items effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards is essential.
- Experience in restaurant or retail environments is advantageous, including grocery store settings.
