JOB This position, with limited supervision, will oversee the State Lead Abatement Program. Duties include inspect ongoing lead abatement projects for state/federal compliance, audit lead professionals in WV for appropriate recordkeeping regarding abatement projects and inspections/risk assessments to meet state/federal guidelines. Monitor, evaluate and audit WV lead training providers and training classes held in WV to determine compliance with state/federal accreditation standards. Monitor, evaluate and analyze programmatic requirements, deliverables, statements of work and activities in all lead grants. Prepare and issue reports detailing overall program implementation and management. This position will also perform environmental lead assessments (ELAs) for children with elevated blood lead levels as referred to our office. This includes using an x-ray fluorescence device (XRF), taking soil, water, paint and dust wipe samples for lead. Creating a report for parents/guardians as well as the child’s physician detailing results, findings and courses of action to resolve issues. This position will also take part in outreach and education events throughout the state in regard to lead abatement and childhood lead poisoning. Meet with other state and federal regulators on lead topics, attend state and national meetings/conferences as well as obtain/maintain lead certifications. This position will participate in Beaver Valley Power Station (BVPS) emergency drills in a role to be determined and will potentially be cross trained in other division areas. There is overnight travel required in this position, including some weekend travel. Other duties as may be assigned.
