Are you passionate about dogs and looking to grow your skills in positive reinforcement training?
We’re seeking a motivated, dog-loving individual to join our team as a Part-Time Assistant Dog Trainer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is working toward their dog training certification or has long-term goals of becoming a professional dog trainer.
About the Role:
As an Assistant Trainer, you’ll work closely with our team of certified trainers to support group training classes and socialization focused playgroups. You’ll help set up and take down equipment for classes, assist with dog handling, support pet parents, and observe real-time training techniques using only force-free, science-based, positive reinforcement methods.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist certified trainers during group obedience and socialization classes
- Support the management of dog playgroups in a safe and positive way
- Help set up and clean up training areas
- Interact with clients and their dogs in a professional and compassionate manner
- Learn and apply positive reinforcement training methods
- Observe and learn from experienced trainers on the job
- Shifts are generally 3 - 5 hours long
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine love of dogs and interest in behavior and training
- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to work evenings and weekends (required)
- Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn
- Experience in a dog daycare, shelter, or training environment is a plus, but not required
