Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and seasonal specials to keep offerings fresh and exciting
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Use knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation tasks
- Support food service operations by plating dishes attractively and timely for service periods
- Contribute to food preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Maintain proper food handling procedures during meal preparation, ensuring compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety protocols
- Proven kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, showcasing proficiency in cooking techniques and meal preparation
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
