Job Summary
As an HVAC Technician, you will diagnose and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems while leading customers to informed and confident buying decisions for maintenance plans, service repairs, indoor air quality products and new HVAC systems when the time is right for the customer. This role also requires the tech to perform preventative maintenance to address any issues before they result in additional repairs or replacements.

Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and equipment
- Inspect the effectiveness and safety of the current customer’s HVAC system
- Ask proper lifestyle questions to troubleshoot heating and cooling system malfunctions
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance including general HVAC in-home service calls
- Diagnose HVAC systems for electrical and mechanical defects
- Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services
- Explain replacement opportunities for aging, inefficient, or underperforming systems
- There may be some opportunity or overlap for installation of HVAC systems, but the primary function of this role is service-focused
- Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business
- Develop a proven track record in heating and cooling systems including the ability to draw simple diagrams and read blueprints and other diagrams
- Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services
- Educate, inform, and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans
- Understand your service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals
- Adhere to the company’s plan for resolving customer complaints quickly and favorably
- Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure the overall success of the business
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck
- Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows and retreats
- Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations
- Be accurate and timely with invoices, timecards, curbside feedback and option sheets
Required Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of local HVAC codes and the ability to make on-the-job applications
- EPA Certification(s)
- Continued education and training to obtain NATE certification if desired
- Minimum 3 years of applicable experience
- Valid Driver's license with a safe driving record
- Must have own tools (assistance may be available)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional appearance, strong work ethic, and great attitude
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
- High integrity with advanced social skills and the ability to make solid connections
