We are seeking a motivated and dependable Asphalt Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting asphalt paving and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality results on various civil infrastructure and highway maintenance sites. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will help keep projects on track and contribute to the development of durable, reliable roadways. Responsibilities
- Assist with asphalt paving, grading, and surface preparation to ensure smooth, even surfaces for roadways and other civil infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform manual handling tasks including lifting, shoveling, and moving materials around construction sites
- Support utility locating activities to ensure underground utilities are identified before excavation or paving begins
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations when operating or working around commercial vehicles
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and tools to ensure safety standards are met and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols related to highway maintenance and construction site operations while working on construction projects
Skills
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, front loader truck, dump truck, and other machinery such as Caterpillar models
- Strong understanding of paving techniques and asphalt surface preparation processes
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues quickly on-site
- Experience working on civil infrastructure projects with a focus on highway maintenance or utility installation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and construction site experience in a civil or utility role

Pay: $17.00 - $28.01 per hour
