Pay Rate: $25.00/hour on W2
Work Type: Onsite – West Babylon, NY 11704
Work Schedule: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM Start
Duration: 2-month contract (with possible extension and/or conversion)
Job Overview:
- The duties of a Collections Specialist include collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced goal-oriented collections department.
- Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
- Manages assigned book of business and collections of all the outstanding accounts receivables from clients and customers
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor accounts daily and identify outstanding account receivables.
- Take actions to encourage timely payments.
- Assist cash application specialist for application customer remittances and perform research on all customer payment.
- Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
- Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales dept regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.
- Process credit card and e-check payments and refunds.
- Resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
- Contact clients and discuss their overdue payments.
- Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts.
- Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Managing up to 1500 accounts.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 3-5 years High Volume Collections experience (Over 500+)
- Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role
- Knowledge of various collection techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree is a plus
