Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finisher/Sprayer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality finishes to products using various spraying techniques, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and safety protocols. Your expertise will contribute to delivering durable, visually appealing coatings on a variety of materials, supporting our commitment to excellence in industrial painting and finishing processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for finishing by performing surface preparation tasks such as sanding, cleaning, and masking construction painting surfaces.
- Operate spray guns including airless paint sprayers, conventional spray equipment, and powder coating systems to apply coatings evenly and efficiently.
- Interpret production documents and technical specifications to ensure correct application of materials and adherence to project requirements.
- Handle materials safely using appropriate PPE, including respirators and respiratory protection, following all safety protocols.
- Use hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and precision measuring instruments to support finishing tasks and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, perform routine maintenance on spray guns and other tools, and document production activities accurately.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency in the finishing process.
Skills
- Proficiency with forklift operation for materials handling and product movement within the manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of quality standards in production to ensure finished products meet specifications.
- Ability to interpret production documents such as work orders, technical drawings, and process instructions.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, coating application, and surface preparation techniques.
- Experience with industrial painting methods including construction painting surface preparation and coating application.
- Skilled in using spray guns (including airless paint spraying), hand tools, power tools, and coating equipment effectively.
- Knowledge of powder coating processes and conventional spraying techniques for diverse finishing applications.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, material quantities, and process adjustments.
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence by properly using PPE such as respirators and following respiratory protection guidelines.
- Visual color comparison skills for achieving consistent finishes across products.
