Part-Time / On-Demand Truck Driver
DnB Design is looking for a reliable part-time, on-demand driver to assist with deliveries and pickups of professional sound and event equipment.
This is not a full-time position. The work is expected to provide approximately $25,000–$30,000 per year, depending on company workload and the driver’s availability.
The schedule changes from week to week. Some weeks may be very busy, while other weeks may have little or no work. We are somewhat flexible with the days and times, making this a potentially good opportunity for an Uber or Lyft driver who would like to add another on-demand driving job to their schedule.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, careful with equipment, personable with clients, and comfortable driving company vehicles, including cargo vans and box trucks. The driver must be able to communicate directly with clients to coordinate delivery locations, arrival times, and pickup arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Drive a company cargo van and 16-foot box truck
- Occasionally drive a 24-foot box truck
- Deliver and pick up professional sound and event equipment
- Load and unload equipment, typically using a lift gate
- Properly secure equipment inside the truck to prevent damage during transport
- Communicate directly with clients to arrange delivery and pickup locations and times
- Keep the company informed of delivery status, delays, or schedule changes
- Represent the company professionally while on-site
- Occasionally use a personal vehicle for small company errands or pickups
Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years old for company insurance purposes
- Valid driver’s license
- Good driving record
- Comfortable driving a 16-foot box truck
- Able to safely load and unload equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with clients
- Personable and comfortable speaking directly with customers
- Able to work a flexible, on-demand schedule that changes from week to week
- Able to communicate clearly by phone and text
- Must know, or be willing to learn, how to properly secure loads
Preferred Experience
- Uber, Lyft, rideshare, courier, or other on-demand driving experience
- Box truck, cargo van, delivery, moving, or warehouse experience
- Experience using lift gates, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other moving equipment
- Experience handling expensive, fragile, or sensitive equipment
This position could be a good fit for an Uber or Lyft driver looking to supplement their existing work, someone with a background in delivery, moving, warehousing, or event production, or a semi-retired person looking for flexible part-time work.
Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
