JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Pre-Analytical Team Coordinator, the lab assistant handles patient orders and prepares patient samples to assist the medical technologist in order to facilitate testing.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Background in medical terminology preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent communication skills; mathematical, verbal, and computer skills at college level preferred; excellent customer relationship skills
- Must be able to problem solve
- Ability to establish work priorities and to multi-task for maximum efficiency.
- Must be able to retain information once learned
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to follow as series of steps without confusion or error on an on-going basis. Must be detail oriented.
