FOH Shift Manager / Floor Manager
La Palapa Grill & Cantina – Ellicott City, MD
$20–$25 per hour, based on experience
La Palapa Grill & Cantina is seeking an experienced FOH Shift Manager to lead our team and take ownership of the restaurant floor during busy shifts.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who is confident running service, supporting employees, resolving guest concerns and maintaining high standards. This is not a desk-management role—you will be actively involved in the operation throughout the shift.
What You’ll Do
- Independently lead FOH shifts from opening through closing
- Direct and support servers, bartenders, hosts and support staff
- Maintain smooth service flow and strong floor coverage
- Monitor hospitality, cleanliness and service standards
- Handle guest concerns and oversee comps within company guidelines
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and management team
- Assist wherever needed during high-volume periods
- Complete opening, closing, cash-handling and end-of-night procedures accurately
- Help hold the team accountable professionally and respectfully
What We’re Looking For
- Previous restaurant management or FOH leadership experience
- Full-service restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Strong floor awareness and sound decision-making
- A calm, confident and professional leadership style
- Excellent communication and guest-recovery skills
- Dependability, organization and attention to detail
- Willingness to be hands-on and lead by example
- Consistent availability for nights, weekends and holidays
Compensation
- $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience
- Performance-based raise opportunity
