We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized financial manager contractor to oversee the organization's financial operations, grant management, and government contract compliance. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, supporting audits, managing budgets, and providing financial reporting to leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong bookkeeping experience, knowledge of nonprofit financial management, and experience administering government contracts and grants.

Duties would include:
Government Contracts & Grant Compliance
- Track and manage expenditures for government contracts and grant-funded programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements.
- Maintain supporting documentation for reimbursable expenses.
- Prepare financial reports and invoices required by grantors and contracting agencies.
- Monitor contract budgets and identify potential compliance issues.
- Support preparation for audits, monitoring visits, and financial reviews.
- Maintain records in accordance with Uniform Guidance and applicable regulations.
Nonprofit Financial Administration
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Assist with donor reporting and financial stewardship.
- Coordinate with program managers regarding budget expenditures.
- Prepare reports for the CEO, Board of Directors, and funding partners.
- Maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Assist with annual financial audits and tax filings.
- Maintain financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and organizational policies.
- Recommend improvements to financial systems and processes.
Financial Management
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting records
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and budget reports.
- Monitor cash flow and financial performance.
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting.
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
- Experience managing government contracts and grants.
- Knowledge of federal grant compliance requirements
- Experience preparing for audits and financial reviews.
- Experience with cost reimbursement contracts, indirect cost tracking, procurement documentation, and CUI/government compliance environments
