We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe changes in health status, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Support clients with personal transportation needs for appointments, errands, or community outings safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Provide emotional support through active listening, engaging communication, and companionship to promote mental well-being.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities.
- Familiarity with medical procedures including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, CPR/First Aid certification, and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts.
- Ability to assist with ADLs effectively while demonstrating patience and empathy for clients with disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and coordination with healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, manual handling, and patient transfer tasks required for safe caregiving practices.
- Experience supporting seniors or individuals with geriatrics needs is advantageous.
